About Interior & Exterior Design Projects

Interior and exterior design handled together is what a penthouse needs, because at this height the two are the same problem. The view is the asset, and every decision either protects it or spends it. Floor-to-ceiling glazing is the obvious move, but glazing that size brings heat gain, glare and a privacy question that a lower floor never has to answer — which is why screening, whether louvres, planting or a deep reveal, gets designed alongside the glass rather than added afterwards. Interior planning follows the same logic: living and entertaining spaces take the best aspect, service areas take the blank walls, and sight lines are set so the view registers from the moment someone enters rather than only from a seat by the window. Bespoke interiors are the point of a project like this, and they are slower than specifying from a catalogue — joinery drawn to the millimetre for a specific wall, stone selected from the actual slab, hardware and finishes reviewed as physical samples under the light they will finally sit in. A chef's kitchen has to work as a working kitchen while staying presentable, since in an open plan it is part of the living space; that means serious extraction, considered task lighting and storage planned around how the household actually cooks. A rooftop garden terrace is a structural and waterproofing exercise before it is a landscape one, with drainage falls, root barriers, soil depth and the weight of wet planting all accounted for in the slab design. Smart home integration is worth resolving at first fix, when cabling routes are still open.

Designing in Sector 17, Chandigarh

Sector 17 is Chandigarh's civic and commercial heart, the sector the city was planned around, and it remains among the most recognised addresses in the region. Its low, disciplined blocks and open plazas mean upper floors here command genuinely long views across the city toward the Shivaliks — a view that Chandigarh's height controls make structurally difficult to replicate, since the planning framework keeps the surrounding skyline low and consistent. That scarcity is precisely what gives a penthouse at this level its value, and it is a reason to design around the outlook rather than compete with it. The same controls shape what can be done externally: terrace additions, screening and any visible alteration to the elevation sit within a regulated envelope, so changes have to be resolved with restraint and in keeping with the building's existing language. Sector 17's central position puts most of Chandigarh within a short drive, with Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur all comfortably reachable.
